Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Hello fellow Aviators,

On the release of EHLE Lelystad Airport for Microsoft Flight Simulator we’ve received an overwhelming amount of reactions and questions. To answer many questions at ones, I’ve created a Frequently Asked Questions page.

  • PAPA HOTEL’s EHLE Lelystad Airport for MSFS is developed to give a true representation of the real life airport in the sim. The L apron, near the newly build terminal, is only in use in real life when aircraft are being refueled and the parking (1 in the sim) near the control tower is occupied. Airlines, like your Boeing 737’s and Airbus A320’s, are only allowed to land at Lelystad Airport with prior permission from ATC. Other then refueling, no services are available at the airport for any aircraft, except for perhaps an APU.

  • Yes! That’s the short answer. The bit longer one is that it’s part of the ongoing development plans for PAPA HOTEL’s EHLE Lelystad Airport. This scenery was born as a bit of a passion project and will probably never be finished for me personally. There will be a version of the scenery available in the future where the user can select the current version of the real life airport and the airfield it should be when it gets approval to receive commercial aviation. The version I’d like to offer you as simmers is one that asks for quite a bit more development though. This and other features it will come, but in due time. Please check the NOTAM’s (like any proper pilot should) on our Discord to keep up-to-date on our latest developments.

  • Yes! This scenery was initially announced by a different game studio, before I set up the PAPA HOTEL Dutch Scenery Design brand. When I needed to change plans, my first priority was finishing this scenery and make it available for you simmers. The choice for the Contrail shop was also one from my personal experience. From my point of view it’s one of the best and easiest shops out there. Of course, every one has their own preferences. Now that the scenery is out, I can focus on expanding the number of shops this scenery will be available at.

  • Like answered in the previous question, now the scenery has come out, the time has come to look at other shops. This includes the (in-game) Marketplace. The problem with the Marketplace though is that you have to be accepted as a developer by the games developer Asobo. According to the stories I’ve heard from colleague dev’s, this isn’t the most straightforward nor easiest task to accomplish. We are working on it though! So hopefully you can also buy EHLE Lelystad Airport for MSFS soon in the Marketplace.

  • To be able to offer Xbox user EHLE Lelystad Airport for MSFS you first have to be able to sell you products in the Marketplace. As discussed in the previous question, that’s being worked on. There’s another problem though, it’s very difficult to test sceneries before they come available for Xbox users. Basically, you can’t test it without it being already available. Therefore there have been some instances where products were pulled from the Marketplace, just because they didn’t work properly on the console. But I would like nothing more than to accomplish this and have Xbox users also be able to enjoy this scenery.

  • I am well aware if this and it’s been bugging me, pardon the pun, for quite some time now. I’ve had discussions with quite a few other developers. The problem seems to be that we dev’s can’t control these vehicles. They seem to be part of the ‘living world’ and the visibility is controlled by the ‘Airport Vehicle Density’ slider in the menu. It seems that quite a number of airport sceneries have a problem like this. I will continue to try to come up with a proper solution to end my annoyance. Keep an eye on the NOTAM’s for the changelogs in future updates!
